PV systems can be installed through operating leases for PV equipment where the Lessor owns the PV asset and takes advantage of the tax credits. Lease payments and end transfer value can be worked out in such a way that it would be less than the electricity cost savings. This is a good option for non-profits and others who do not have a tax appetite as well as the capital resources to acquire a PV system.
